Since 2001
A church that friends asked for.
They saw in him a passion for the Scriptures, and an understanding of Jewish tradition and of Christianity — and of the history the two share.
Long before he was a pastor, Dr. Primous was a speaker. At fifteen he was one of the youngest orators accepted into the National Orators Association, and youth president of the National Colored Women’s Book Club, where he learned history, leadership, and the worth of an education.
That love of the Word and of people became a congregation. Today we are a small, close family in Rochester: a missionary church that worships together, prays together, and puts its faith to work — feeding the hungry and supporting mission work far beyond our city.
“Faith is nothing without works. A person must be willing to put their money where their faith is.”
Our name for who we are
Why the olive tree?
In Romans 11, Paul pictures God’s people as an olive tree. Its root is the promise made to Abraham. Its natural branches are Israel. And every believer from the nations is a wild shoot, grafted in by grace.
That is why we call ourselves an interfaith alliance. We honor the Jewish roots of our faith, we believe Jesus is the Christ, born in Abraham’s line, and we welcome everyone the tree has room for.
What we believe
Romans 11:17–18
One family of faith
Through the lineage of Abraham the Christ was born, and through His sacrifice Jesus grafted us into the family of Abraham.
Jeremiah 29:11
A reason and a purpose
We believe every person was put here for a reason. We help people find meaning, and become something greater than their problems.
James 2:17
Faith that works
Faith is nothing without works. We give to feed the hungry and to carry the Gospel to the nations.
3 John 1:2
Healing for the whole person
We pray for body and soul, and walk with people through recovery — spiritual, emotional and physical.
